PPGI, which stands for Pre-Painted Galvanised. This process involves the formation of a zinc coating on top of a plain steel sheet, which is then sprayed with paint. Sandwich panels made from this type of sheet steel are called PPGI sandwich panels and are commonly used in outdoor environments such as roofs and walls.
The process of color spraying on the panels of PPGI sandwich panels is roughly as follows:
1. Surface pretreatment: First, surface pretreatment of galvanized sandwich panel panels is required, including cleaning and rust removal. This step is important because a clean surface will bond with the paint better, improving the coating's durability and adhesion.
2. Primer coating: Next, apply a special primer, such as ED1000 epoxy primer. Mix the primer and curing agent in a certain proportion, stir thoroughly, and let it sit for a period to mature. Then, apply the primer evenly on the panel by spraying or brushing to achieve the specified paint film thickness.
3. Apply matching topcoat: After the primer dries, apply the matching topcoat. The choice of topcoat needs to consider the use environment and decorative needs. For example, when applied in environments such as moisture, ultraviolet rays, salt water, acid and alkali, etc., you can choose a topcoat with corresponding protective properties. Mix the topcoat and curing agent according to a certain proportion, add an appropriate amount of diluent, stir evenly, and spray on the primer to achieve the required film thickness.
4. Inspection and repair: Finally, check whether the thickness of the paint film reaches the standard, whether the color is uniform, and whether there are any problems such as leakage and blistering. If these problems are found, they need to be repaired in time.
